In 2018, DHL’s existing quoting tools were underperforming, spread across multiple sites and hard to find. We partnered with DHL to create a unified, user-friendly quoting tool aligned with their rebranding efforts.

Role & Responsibilities:
As Senior Designer on the DHL account, I led the design direction and creative deliverables across multiple projects. On the ‘Get A Quote’ initiative, I contributed to UX concepting, user testing, and regularly presented design decisions to Senior Stakeholders and C-Level executives.I also facilitated bi-weekly collaboration with the branding agency Strichpunkt, influencing digital brand decisions and ensuring WCAG AA compliance. All the work led to the implementation of a white-label pattern library, enabling flexible reuse of our design system across DHL’s business units.

Challenge

DHL’s quoting tools were fragmented and saw very low traffic (2% in the US, 9% in the Netherlands). They needed a single tool to unify all business units and simplify the user experience.

We developed a new quoting tool that unified DHL’s business logic into one simple platform. Using real-time user insights from tools like Adobe Analytics and Usabilla, we refined the tool in an iterative, data-driven process.

Our iterative design, built with ongoing feedback, ensured a strong alignment with DHL’s rebranding. The quoting tool modernized the experience and reinforced accessibility, ensuring a cohesive brand presence.

A centralized collection of tested, user-centric UI patterns

The tool allowed DHL to standardize UI patterns across business units, building stronger relationships with clients and providing a white-label pattern library for future projects.
